The IPL 2025 final was a memorable day as the fans finally saw the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lift the title in the end. The centre of attention was Virat Kohli, who was finally rewarded for sticking with the franchise through thick and thin.

The team that featured in the finals against the Men in Red were the Punjab Kings (PBKS), who were led by Shreyas Iyer. The Mumbai batter was also playing his second consecutive final as a captain in the tournament. Though PBKS failed to get their hands on the title, Virat did not fail to acknowledge him as there is a clip where he is seen taking blessings and embracing Iyer’s father after the game.

The video of this gesture from the former India skipper and two-time world champion has gone viral on social media. The video has over 17.8K views and over 1000 likes, which shows how much the fans adored the RCB stalwart for his kind gesture. This is another instance when Virat has not only won the trophy but also the love of millions of fans who support him.

Kohli shines once again this season

The 2025 season was another iconic year for Virat Kohli, who went on to score 657 runs in 15 games at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71. This was the fifth season in which the Delhi-born batter crossed the 600-run mark, which is the most by any batter in this franchise league.

He played a crucial knock of 43 off 35 deliveries in the final, helping them reach a competitive total of 190 in the first innings. He scored eight half-centuries this year, with his highest score being an unbeaten 73 off 54 deliveries, which was also scored against the Punjab franchise.
