Hobart Hurricanes Women emerged victorious in dominant fashion, beating Perth Scorchers Women by eight wickets and 30 balls to spare in the final of the 2025 Women's Big Bash League at the Bellerive Oval on December 13. This was the Hurricanes' maiden WBBL final appearance and triumph.

Electing to bat first, the Scorchers started off steadily. Lauren Smith and Linsey Smith picked up the first two wickets of the match. Heather Graham took the prized wicket of Beth Mooney, cleaning her up for 33 off 26. Graham's second wicket was that of Sophie Devine.

A 13-run penultimate over set up a big last-over finish. However, Nicola Carey closed things up superbly to only concede three runs in the final over, as the Scorchers ended up on 137/5 in their 20-over quota, with Paige Scholfield ending up unbeaten on 27 off 22.

The Hurricanes got off to a flying start courtesy of Lizelle Lee, scoring 31 off 19 during the powerplay. An 18-run 11th over brought up Lee's fifty in 32 balls, with the total going past 100 in the subsequent over.

Nat Sciver-Brunt could not stay till the end, perishing for 35 off 27. Nicola Carey finished the match with a boundary while Lee ended up unbeaten on 77 off 40 with 10 fours and four sixes to her name. This was Lee's third fifty of the edition.
