'We remains committed' - JSW Inspire denies kit issues for India cricket teams at Asian Games
Kit manufacturer clarifies that performance kits were handed over to managers well in advance with no issues reported.
Reports emerged of sizing and delivery problems affecting India's cricket contingent ahead of the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The Indian men's cricket team, led by Shreyas Iyer, was scheduled to depart New Delhi early on Sunday, September 20, 2026, with some squad members still awaiting correctly sized official kits. The issue prompted repeated communication between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and JSW Inspire, the IOA's official kit supplier.
According to reports, most sizing problems had been resolved by the time of departure, though a few players remained without their kits. The situation raised questions about the readiness of India's cricket teams for both bilateral matches and the Asian Games competition. India's men's team was scheduled to wear standard kit for a bilateral T20 match against Japan on September 22 before donning the official Asian Games jersey for competition beginning September 28.
The manufacturer issued a statement addressing the reported kit supply challenges. JSW Inspire confirmed that both the men's and women's cricket teams had received their performance kits through their respective managers well before the team departed for Aichi-Nagoya. The company emphasised that managers had verified the kits were in proper order with no outstanding issues.
"More specifically, the kit for both the men’s & women’s cricket teams have been handed over to the respective managers well in advance. They have confirmed that the kits are in order and that there are no issues. The men’s team will be wearing the JSW Inspire kit when they travel from Tokyo to Nagoya on 26th September. JSW Inspire remains committed to upholding the standards and values of the Asian Games," a JSW Spokesperson was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

JSW Inspire also clarified the distinction between its responsibilities and those of other parties involved in the kit supply chain. The manufacturer stated that responsibility for the production and handover of ceremonial kit was not with JSW Inspire.

Performance kits had been provided to the respective federations in a phased manner, with the company distinguishing between the ceremonial attire worn at opening and closing ceremonies and the performance kits used during matches. India's men's and women's cricket teams were defending champions in their respective events at the Asian Games.
