India Women and Sri Lanka Women will meet in the Asia Cup 2026 final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 13, 2026. India enter the decider with one of the most commanding finals records in the tournament's history, having claimed seven titles from eight final appearances across all editions of the Women's Asia Cup.

Sri Lanka are the defending champions, seeking their second title. They ended India's long run of dominance by winning the 2024 Women's Asia Cup final, lifting the trophy for the first time. That result is the second final defeat India Women have suffered in the competition's history.

What is India Women's complete Asia Cup finals record?

India Women have contested finals in 2004, 2005/06, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024, winning seven and losing two. The table below sets out each final, the opponent, and the margin of victory or defeat.

The 2004 edition, the first Women's Asia Cup, was structured as a five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka rather than a single knockout final. India won all five matches to claim the inaugural title. India's largest winning margin in a final came in 2008, when they defeated Sri Lanka by 177 runs. The 2012 final was a closer contest, with India beating Pakistan by 18 runs. In 2016, India edged Pakistan again, this time by 17 runs, to become champions for the sixth consecutive time. The 2022 final returned to a Sri Lanka contest, with India chasing down 65 to win by eight wickets and secure their seventh title.

Who has India faced most often in Asia Cup finals?

Sri Lanka Women have been India's most frequent opponents in Asia Cup finals. Six of India's eight final appearances have come against Sri Lanka, across the 2004, 2005/06, 2006, 2008, 2022 and 2024 editions. India won five of those six encounters before Sri Lanka claimed the 2024 title to record their first final victory over India.

Pakistan Women have featured in two finals against India, in 2012 and 2016, with India winning both by narrow margins of 19 runs and 17 runs respectively. Across all eight finals, India have faced only two opponents, underlining how consistently they have reached the decisive stage of the Women's Asia Cup.

Heading into the September 13 decider, India will be aiming to secure an eighth Asia Cup title and avenge the 2024 defeat against the same Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, for their part, will look to prove that their 2024 triumph was no aberration and claim back-to-back titles for the first time in the tournament's history.
