The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scripted a stunning win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2023 on Monday, April 10 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The KL Rahul-led team successfully chased the 213-run target set by RCB with one wicket in hand. As a result of the victory, LSG also moved to the top of the IPL 2023 points table with six points.

RCB scored a staggering 212 after being asked to bat first, with half-centuries from captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell. After collapsing to 23/3 in the first four overs of the chase, LSG were in trouble. However, Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) hit a stunning half-century before being dismissed by Mohammed Siraj to help LSG stay alive in the chase. The team needed one run from the final ball, and with the support of Ayush Badoni and Ravi Bishnoi, they managed to defeat RCB in a nail-biting thriller.

Following the match, LSG shared pictures of their mentor Gautam Gambhir and RCB batter Virat Kohli interacting and embracing each other. Notably, both Gambhir and Kohli were part of the iconic Indian team who won the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Ye IPL hai mere yaar, bas ishq mohabbat pyaar," the caption read.
