Yuzvendra Chahal, Mahvash unfollow each other on social media, fuel fresh speculation

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Mahvash appear to have taken a step back from each other on social media, reigniting speculation about their relationship. What began as online curiosity has now intensified after fans noticed that the two have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The development has caught attention as Chahal and Mahvash had been closely watched over the past few months. Their frequent social media interactions, friendly banter, and public appearances together had led many to believe there was more than just friendship between them. Although neither of them ever officially confirmed a relationship, speculation continued to grow online.

There were rumours of the two dating first surfaced a few months after Chahal’s divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The buzz escalated further when Chahal and Mahvash were spotted together during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a moment that sent social media into a frenzy. The cricketer was even teased about his Instagram posts during an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix.

However, Chahal had earlier attempted to put an end to the speculation, firmly denying that he was in a relationship with Mahvash. The leg-spinner also revealed that the rumours had deeply affected her, highlighting the emotional toll such speculation can take.

“No, there's nothing. People can think whatever they want to think,” said Chahal on Raj Shamani’s podcast.

“For the first time, when I was seen with someone, people started linking us right away. Even though she clarified it, it was very hard for her. She was called a homewrecker... people said really nasty things. I felt terrible... We could not step out together,” he added.

As of now, neither Chahal nor Mahvash has commented on the recent unfollowing. Their silence has only fuelled further speculation, with fans closely watching for any hint or clarification. Chahal was previously married to choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The couple tied the knot in December 2020 and were granted a divorce by mutual consent in March 2025, reportedly due to compatibility issues.
