Jay Shah-led ICC brings changes to governance, membership and support

Mauritius has become the ICC's 111th member.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board has approved a number of governance, membership and member support decisions following the conclusion of its annual meetings in Edinburgh. 

ICC Board establishes two new sub-committees 

The Board approved the establishment of two Board subcommittees. 

A Governance Review Committee has been constituted comprising Devajit Saikia (BCCI – Chair), Dr Mohammed Moosajee (Cricket South Africa) and Dr Ros Rivaz (ICC Independent Director). 

The Board also established a Franchise Leagues Committee, comprising Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh Cricket Board – Chair), Dr Rudie van Vuuren (Cricket Namibia), Devajit Saikia (BCCI), Richard Gould (England and Wales Cricket Board) and Todd Greenberg (Cricket Australia). 

Mauritius becomes ICC's 111th Member

The ICC approved the admission of Mauritius as the 111th Member of the International Cricket Council, marking another important step in the continued global growth of the game. The addition of Mauritius reflects the ICC's commitment to expanding cricket's reach, strengthening its presence in emerging markets, and creating greater opportunities for participation and development across the world. 

Support for Cricket West Indies 

The Board approved a USD 12.82 million loan to Cricket West Indies to support the Member Board. 

ICC Membership Matters 

Cricket Canada 

The ICC Board approved reinstatement conditions for Cricket Canada, setting out the requirements that must be satisfied before its suspension from ICC membership can be lifted. Cricket Canada remains suspended until those conditions have been fully met. 

Sri Lanka Cricket 

The ICC Board received an update on Sri Lanka Cricket and noted progress towards a revised constitution. It reiterated the need for elections to be held as soon as possible and agreed that Sri Lanka Cricket would continue to be unable to be represented at ICC Board meetings for the time being. 

Bangladesh Cricket Board 

The ICC Board recognised the appointment of the newly elected president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board as the member's full member director. 

France Cricket 

The ICC Annual General Meeting agreed to place France Cricket on notice for breaches of the ICC Membership Criteria.
