The stage is set for the most marquee clash of the year, and no, it is not the Ashes — it is even bigger, it is India (IND) versus Pakistan (PAK). This rivalry will continue with the Match No. 6 of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 14 at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The last international match between these two sides came at this very venue, during the Champions Trophy 2025, where the Men in Blue triumphed under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

For India, there has been a match going on social media where this match should proceed, following the geopolitical tensions between the two nations. However, with the government's stance being clear and firm, the BCCI and the players have no option but to field themselves in Dubai for a weekend thriller, where Suryakumar Yadav's men will be coming into the contest on the back of an emphatic win against the UAE in their opening clash.

On the other hand, Pakistan, too, have been extremely impressive in the tournament thus far. Despite a middle order collapse in their first match of the tournament against Oman, the Pakistani batters staged a comeback to roll the dice in their favour. Their spin-heavy bowling attack can cause trouble to the Indian batters, but the opposition is more than capable enough to take on any unit in the world to come out on top, which clearly reflects in their tag of being the defending T20 World Cup champions.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been offering a very spin-friendly surface of late. In fact, the lack of bounce and slowness of the wicket gives very little to play for the seamers. As a result, both sides are likely to field an assisting bowling unit, while compromising on the speedsters. Since the track will slow down as the moon gets brighter, the team winning the toss on Sunday should certainly be eyeing at opting to bat first.
