The third and final T20I between India and South Africa will be a dead rubber as the Men in Blue have already clinched the series by winning the first two games. India defeated South Africa in a T20I series at home for the first time in History, and they would try to finish it in an even more historic manner by winning it 3-0.

On the other hand, South Africa would look to win the final fixture in order to save themselves from a series whitewash. Th e Indian bowlers dominated in the first T20I as they restricted the visitors for a very low total of 106/8. After Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli failed to fire during the chase, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav carried the game forward and took India to a win.

Unlike the first game, which turned out to be a one-sided affair, the second game was a high-scoring thriller. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul powered India’s innings in the beginning, as the two shared a 96-run stand before the skipper perished, and Rahul followed him back to the pavilion soon. It was then a Virat Kohli-Suryakumar Yadav show, with the latter taking charge of the innings.

Kohli and Yadav notched up a 102-run stand for the third wicket as Yadav scored a 22-ball 61 before being dismissed. After combined efforts from all the batters, India finished scoring 237/3. In response, David Miller and Quinton de Kock posed a threat to India as they almost chased down the total. But Indian bowlers held their nerves and restricted Proteas from chasing.

Pitch Conditions

The surface at Holkar Stadium offers steady bounce and carry, giving the batsmen confidence to play their strokes. The stadium's extremely close boundaries may make bowlers' problems worse. This field has previously hosted some high-scoring games, and the upcoming fixture will be expected to be one such.

Playing Combinations for IND vs SA

India

The Indian side has performed brilliantly so far, and after the previous game, it will be unlikely for India to make any changes. There is a chance of Yuzvendra Chahal coming in for Ravichandran Ashwin, but the rest of the combination is expected to be the same. India will need to focus on their death over bowling, as it emerges as the major concern.

Predicted Playing XI: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin/Yuzvendras Chahal, Harshal Patel, Deepak Chahar, Arshdeep Singh

South Africa

South Africa would want the top-order batters to fire this time around. Temba Bavuma, Rilee Rossouw, and Aiden Markram are all power-hitters, but haven’t performed in the series so far. The Proteas came very close to winning the previous game, and would like to continue with the same combination.

Quinton de Kock (wk), Temba Bavuma (c), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi
