After an enthralling amount of run-fest in the one-day internationals, where the hosts won 2-1, the action between India (IND) and West Indies (WI) has now moved to the shortest format of the game, with the first T20I set to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, October 06.

The Indian T20I squad is more or less similar to the one that featured in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and came out flying colours by winning the gold medal. Their next aim will be to continue their winning momentum and go one-up in the series with the encounter in Lucknow. The Shreyas Iyer-led side will be putting their best on display for this important fixture.

The West Indies, on the other hand, have a fairly different squad from the one that featured in the ODIs. Amir Jangoo has been roped in as a cover for the injured Jewel Andrew, which could be a blessing in disguise for the Caribbeans. Jangoo had scored fifty-plus scores in each of the three one-dayers and will be hoping to carry his form forward in 20-over cricket as well.

BRSABV Ekana Stadium, Lucknow: Pitch Report

Seven T20I matches have been played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow historically. Out of these, a staggering six have been won by the teams that have batted first. This should give a clear indication to the captains on making a conscious call if they win the toss for the series opener on Tuesday. No team has ever crossed the 200-run mark, and thus, it should be considered a par total.
