The two teams are gearing to face each other on April 20 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. Punjab are coming into the fixture after a victory against Lucknow Super Giants while RCB lost their previous fixture against Chennai Super Kings.
Punjab Kings started their campaign with a win against Kolkata Knight Riders by seven runs (DLS Method) in Mohali. They further defeated Rajasthan Royals by five runs in their next fixture. However, their winning spree came to a halt as they suffered back-to-back losses against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. They finally got their campaign back on track with a win against LSG in their last fixture.
On the other hand, RCB started their campaign in an emphatic fashion with an 8-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. However, they suffered consecutive losses against Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. But a win against Delhi Capitals in the fourth fixture brought the hopes of their fans back. However, the Faf du Plessis-led side went on to lose their fifth game against Chennai Super Kings by eight runs and got their campaign off track again.
Having lost two out of three matches so far at their home ground, RCB need to up the ante in the rest of the fixtures and dominate the oppositions. On the other hand, Punjab have performed exceptionally as a unit so far and will be eager to put on another clinical performance against RCB.
