MPL 2025: June 20 Match Preview

Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator in the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 will be held on Friday, June 20. In the afternoon, Eagle Nashik Titans and Puneri Bappa will lock horns in Qualifier 1 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The Eliminator will commence in the evening at the same venue, featuring Raigad Royals and Kolhapur Tuskers.

Prashant Solanki-led Titans finished at the top of the points table, winning five games and losing one out of the 10 they played in the round-robin phase of the tournament. Their last four games ended without a result due to rain. Meanwhile, Yash Kshirsagar's Puneri Bappa finished second on the points table. They had four wins and two defeats after 10 matches. Four of their games were also washed out due to rain.

Raigad Royals, captained by Rushabh Rathod, won four matches and lost three. They shared points in three of their matches. On the other hand, Rahul Tripathi's Kolhapur Tuskers finished with two wins and three defeats. They got five out of their nine points from games that ended without a result due to rain.

Pitch Report

As the pitch has been under the covers due to the inclement weather in Pune of late, there could be some moisture that the quicker bowlers could exploit. While a few games in the initial stage of the tournament were high-scoring, bowlers had more of a say as the tournament progressed. Winning the toss and bowling first could be the better option, especially with rain possibly playing a role.
