After starting their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with two outstanding wins over arch-rivals Pakistan and the Netherlands, a determined India would be facing a tough challenge in the form of South Africa in their Super 12 clash at the Perth Stadium on Sunday, October 30.
Their batting looks strong with Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav roaring back to form, registering their respective half-centuries against the Dutch team while India already have an in-form Virat Kohli in their arsenal who has scored unbeaten 50s in the last two encounters. Meanwhile, bowling continues to be a bit of a concern with pacer Arshdeep Singh leaking runs at the backend of the innings.
South Africa, on the other hand head, into this contest on the back of an intimidating 104-run victory over Bangladesh. The Proteas batted the Asian side out of the contest after they posted a mammoth 205/5 on the board riding on Rilee Rossouw's 56-ball 109 before pacer Anrich Nortje's four-wicket haul wrapped up their innings for just 101.
On paper, the Proteas have an advantage over India since they have a couple of tall pacers who can be lethal on the bouncy track in Perth with the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje who can make the Indian batters look unsettled on this surface.
Pitch Conditions
The match is scheduled to take place in Perth which is known as Australia's fastest surface that offers a lot of bounce and seam movement. The batters are in for a tough time, but can break free once they are well set at the crease. There are chances of dew later in the evening and therefore, the captain winning the toss would look to bowl first.
