The Netherlands are all set to take on Pakistan in their next encounter at the Perth Stadium in Match 29 of the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 Stages. The Dutch side are coming off a big defeat at the hands of India side in their previous game and are currently at the bottom of the points table of Group 2.
With two losses in two games, the Netherlands would be hoping to turn around their fortunes in the remaining fixtures. Despite being almost out of the race, the Dutch will be looking to upset the big nations and a victory against Pakistan will be a massive boost to their confidence.
On the other hand, Pakistan are on the verge of getting knocked out of the tournament and they do not have fate in their own hands anymore after the loss to Zimbabwe. The Men in Green have fallen short in two close games and are at the fifth position in the points table. They are yet to open their account and will need a miracle from here on if they have to qualify for the semi-finals.
The top order, which was the positive for Pakistan coming into the tournament, has shown vulnerability and bowling has been the only factor that has kept their hopes alive.
Pitch Conditions
The Perth Stadium has long boundaries and it has not been the easiest of grounds to score runs. The bowlers enjoy the conditions usually and the skipper winning the toss will be looking to bowl first after the results at the venue so far.
Playing Combinations for NED vs PAK
Netherlands
The Netherlands have a settled bowling unit at the moment and it has been their batting which hasn't been on the mark yet. Brandon Glover is one of the exciting talents who could be given a chance while veteran spinner Roelof van der Merve could also get a look in. Skipper Scott Edwards will expect a lot more from the top-order which is yet to fire on a consistent basis.
Predicted Playing XI: Vikramjit Singh, Max ODowd, Bas de Leede, Colin Ackermann, Tom Cooper, Scott Edwards (c & wk), Tim Pringle, Logan van Beek, Shariz Ahmad, Fred Klaassen, Paul van Meekeren
Pakistan
Pakistan will definitely make at least one change to their lineup after the humiliating defeat against Zimbabwe. Shaheen Afridi did not look like he was 100 percent fit on the field while Haider Ali might make way for Asif Ali in the playing XI after two consecutive low scores. Mohammad Wasim Jr is likely to hold onto his place in the XI after a four-wicket haul in the previous game.
Predicted Playing XI: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah
