India U-19 won the second Youth ODI against Australia U-19 by 51 runs at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane on Wednesday, September 24, to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Yash Deshmukh, the Australian captain, won the toss and opted to bowl first. His opposite number was dismissed by Will Byrom off the second ball of the match, giving the Aussies a magnificent start. However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vihaan Malhotra steadied the ship by playing counter-attacking cricket.

Suryavanshi smashed five fours and six sixes during his blistering 70-run knock off 68 deliveries. When he hit his fifth maximum, he broke Unmukt Chand's six-hitting record in Youth ODIs. The Rajasthan Royals' batter was dismissed in the 19th over by Deshmukh.

Vedant Trivedi walked out to bat at No. 4, and he got a start but couldn't capitalise. The right-handed batter departed for 26 off 33 balls. India U19 got into a spot of bother, slumping from 198/3 to 214/6. However, Abhigyan Kundu held the innings together, finishing with a score of 71 off 64 balls. India were eventually bowled out for 300 in 49.4 overs. Byrom was the pick of the bowlers, bagging three wickets in 10 overs, giving away 47 runs.

In reply, Australia got off to a sedate start. Simon Budge and Alex Turner added 29 runs inside the first 12 overs. After the former was dismissed in the 12th over, Steven Hogan and Turner consolidated the innings.

However, Hogan, Turner, and Deshmukh were dismissed in quick succession, as the hosts slumped to 64/4 in 21 overs. Alex Lee Young and Jayden Draper stitched a steady partnership of 42 runs. However, Young and John James were dismissed in consecutive overs.
