Coming into the contest on the back of three losses, Chicago won the toss and opted to bowl first. Angelo Perera hit a couple of boundaries for the Kings before being dismissed in the third over. However, it was Sushant Modani who was in rampaging form, smashing 31 off just 14 deliveries.

Leonardo Julien and Asa Tribe got starts but couldn't convert them into substantial scores. However, Fabian Allen played a phenomenal knock at the back-end of the innings, amassing an unbeaten 28 off 14 deliveries. The West Indies all-rounder hit four sixes in his knock. Atlanta Kings finished their innings at 109/4 in their 20 overs. Rahul Sharma had another fine stint with the ball, conceding just 10 runs in his two overs and picking up the wicket of Tribe.

In reply, Sohail Tanvir made the new ball talk, dismissing Chicago openers Rajdeep Darbar and Gajanand Singh in the first over itself.
