Houston skipper Nisarg Patel won the toss and opted to field first. Chicago got off to a splendid start but lost the wickets of Rajdeep Darbar and Dilshan Munaweera in quick succession.
Gajanand Singh also departed after playing a dismal knock of 16 off 15 balls. Sami Sohail, Wahab Riaz, and Haseeb Azam were also dismissed for single-digit scores, but Ashley Nurse injected some much-needed momentum into the innings with his whirlwind 22-run knock off 12 balls.
With the ball, William Bosisto stood out with mind-boggling figures of 2/7 in two overs. Saad Bin Zafar also chipped in with a couple of wickets. Chicago finished their innings on 86/7 in 10 overs.
In reply, Houston lost Bosisto's wicket in the second over. However, Kennar Lewis took the attack to the Chicago bowlers and slammed a blistering 40 off 15 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes. Toby Albert and Chandrapaul Hemraj failed to impress with the bat. However, Kwame Patton Jr's unbeaten 24-run knock off 11 balls helped Houston get over the line with two overs and six wickets to spare.
Rahul Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for Chicago. Elmore Hutchinson also chipped in with the important wicket of Bosisto. However, Kennar Lewis was run out by Ashley Nurse. While Chicago remained at the bottom of the table, Houston moved to No. 2 behind Dallas Lonestars.
