South Africa won the second Test match against Australia by six wickets on the back of a stunning show from Kagiso Rabada and AB de Villiers. The former was awarded Man of the Match for his 11-wicket haul in the match as he bamboozled the opposition batsmen with reverse swing. Though his future in the series was hanging by the thread following his brushing of a shoulder with the Aussie skipper Steve Smith on the first day of the Test. As expected the match referee Jeff Crowe charged him with level two offence and was suspended for the next two Test matches.

At the same time, he was also charged with level 1 offence for his serious celebration on the face of David Warner after picking up his wicket on the third day. Overall, he was fined 50 percent of his match fee and also received three demerit points which took his total tally to 9 demerit points within 24-months leading to a two-Test suspension.

CSA trying to save Rabada

According to the reports in Sport 24, Cricket South Africa (CSA) is seeking a legal advice to appeal against the suspension of Kagiso Rabada. They have a total of 48 hours to do the same according to the rules and regulations of the world cricketing body. CSA, naturally, must be looking to save their best bowler for the rest of the series who has already made a huge impact on the series and is the leading wicket-taker after two matches.

South Africa too are surely going to miss him as the series is nicely set up now. In his absence, the likes of Vernon Philander, Lungi Ngidi and Morne Morkel have to step up and it also remains to be seen if CSA is able to successfully turnover the suspension of the bowler which looks unlikely as of now.
