Zimbabwe, buzzing after their spectacular one-run victory over Pakistan, now lock horns with Shakib Al Hasan’s Bangladeshi side in Match 28 of the T20 WC 2022 on October 30 at The Gabba in Brisbane. The stadium will host its first match of the ongoing tournament and also the first of the triple-header clashes on a Super Sunday. Bangladesh has two points in as many games while the Zimbabweans have three points thanks to their no-result clash with South Africa.
Craig Ervine’s team shocked the cricketing world by defeating Pakistan as they also staged yet another upset in the competition. Chasing just 130 to win, the Men in Green struggled against Zimbabwe’s seam bowlers and also the spin of Sikandar Raza, who took figures of 3/25, a Man of the Match award-winning performance. With this, the African nation created history by causing one of the biggest upsets in the history of the tournament.
On the other hand, Bangladesh, after winning their opening match against the Netherlands, suffered Rilee Rossouw’s assault as the Protea batter smashed an outstanding century to help his side in registering a massive 104-run victory. With a victory each for both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, both sides will be looking to clinch their second win in the competition in Brisbane.
