Virat Kohli’s 45th One-Day international century and half-centuries from skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill helped India in posting a massive total of 373/7, eventually winning the opening match by 67 runs against Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The second of the three-match series now takes place on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Speaking more about the Guwahati ODI, Kohli registered his 73rd international hundred. The run-machine continued his love affair against the Lankan Lions as he struck his ninth century against them in the 50-overs format. For the tourists, captain Dasun Shanaka fought hard as he slammed his second ton in ODIs but his side failed to chase down the big target.
