2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lock horns with 2008 winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 4 of IPL 2023 on a doubleheader Sunday, April 2, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Both sides will clash again in the reverse fixture in Match no.52 on May 7 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The Orange Army has endured tough two past seasons as they finished in the eighth position in the points table in 2021 and 2022. In fact, they managed to win only three out of the 14 league matches in the last edition. On the other hand, explosive Jos Buttler took RR to the finals last campaign. He hammered 863 runs in 17 innings as the Royals reached their second final only to lose it to first-timers Gujarat Titans.

Speaking about the selections, the Orange Army broke the bank at the auction table as they bought Harry Brook for an eye-catching amount of INR 13.25 crores. They purchased Mayank Agarwal and have also appointed South Africa’s Aiden Markram as their new skipper. RR have also brought in some new players like Jason Holder and Joe Root in their ranks for this edition.
