Rajasthan Royals (RR) square off against Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 48 of IPL 2023 on Friday, May 05 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Royals defeated Titans by three wickets when both sides met previously in the tournament in the reverse fixture in Ahmedabad.
Notably, it was RR’s first victory over defending champions GT as Hardik Pandya and his side played three games with the Jaipur-based franchise last year and emerged victorious on all three occasions including the mega final. Speaking in detail about the last meeting in the ongoing edition, Shimron Hetmyer played a quickfire knock of 56* off just 26 with two fours and five maximums to chase down the target of 178 for his side.
Heading into this fixture, Royals would be worried about the form of their two most experienced campaigners, Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson. The former has managed to score just 85 runs in his last five outings including two ducks. Whereas, Samson has racked up just 55 runs in his last four innings as both the batters look to get amongst the runs and claim a double over GT this season.
