MI vs LSG: IPL 2026 Records and Stats at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
The Mumbai Indians have just two wins in nine games and are all but out of the competition.
Mumbai Indians will return to action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as they take on the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, May 4.
The Mumbai Indians lost their seventh game of the season against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. They sit in ninth place on the table and are all but out of the competition, if not for a miracle.
The Lucknow Super Giants come off the back of an eight-day break in their fixtures after their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Ekana Stadium in a super over. They sit at the bottom of the table, with just two wins in eight matches, and will need to win all their remaining matches if they are to stand a chance of making the playoffs.
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai: Pitch Report
The Wankhede Stadium is one of the IPL's famed venues for batting. The red-soil wicket plays fast and consistently, with the ball coming onto the bat well. The dimensions of the boundaries are small, and the outfield is fast, making scoring runs in boundaries much easier. Fast bowlers get lateral movement early in the innings, which is often the only help for bowlers on the wicket. There is also significant dew which sets in in the second innings, making life easier for chasing teams.

MI vs LSG Strategies and Match-ups
The five-time champions have struggled throughout this season, with poor displays with both bat and ball. The batters have found runs but have just not been able to do enough to take games away from the opposition. The bowling department has been in a rut, with Jasprit Bumrah managing just two wickets all season.
The Lucknow-based franchise has faced problems with their batting unit all season. The star batters of the side being unable to rack up runs has been hurting them badly. They have had one of the more balanced bowling units, with Prince Yadav being a revelation with 13 wickets in eight games. Mohammed Shami, too, has been in good rhythm, while Mohsin Khan is having his best season thus far.
The two teams have met eight times in past IPL seasons, with the matchup being skewed towards the LSG, who hold a 6-2 lead.
