MS Dhoni's IPL records and stats in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to face off in Match 18 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The two are scheduled to meet on Friday (April 5) at SRH’s home turf, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Turning the pages of the history book, SRH had a bitter experience against their upcoming rival in IPL 2018.

The two teams clashed in the 2018 final in Mumbai, with CSK claiming their third title while SRH heartbreakingly missed out on their second. The Yellow Brigade had their triumphant outing under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Their talisman is no longer at the reins, but his presence on the ground is still a boost for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co.

Dhoni will be one of the main attractions when CSK go out for their fourth game of the season, especially after his blistering cameo in the last match against Delhi Capitals (DC). The 42-year-old turned back the clock by scoring an unbeaten 37 off just 16 balls, a knock that featured three sixes and four boundaries. Although his team lost the match by 20 runs, fans were delighted to witness 'Thala' batting for the first time this season.

Looking at the stats, Dhoni's best performance against SRH was mostly in CSK's den. In Hyderabad, the right-hander doesn’t have impressive numbers. The legendary skipper has scored 134 runs from eight innings at this venue at an average of 19.14 and a strike rate of 131.37. He also failed to score a single half-century in Hyderabad.

MS Dhoni’s dismissals in Hyderabad

Against Pacers: Dhoni has amassed 95 runs at this ground against the pacers at an impressive strike rate of 148.43. He was dismissed five times against speed deliveries.

Against Spinners: Dhoni, who generally plays as a finisher, has struggled against spinners at this venue. He accumulated just 39 runs in six innings at a dismal strike rate of 102.63.
