Rilee Rossouw smashed his maiden half-century (82* off just 37) which included six fours and as many maximums while Prithvi Shaw returned to form with a knock of 54 off 38 as Delhi Capitals (DC) posted 213/2 on the board in the first innings. The David Warner-led side eventually defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a margin of 15 runs in Match 64 of IPL 2023 in Dharamsala. Liam Livingstone struck his highest score of 94* but it went in vain as Punjab Kings eventually fell short of the target.

Talking about how the match unfolded, skipper Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to field first. David Warner led his side from the front by scoring 46 off 31 balls with Shaw supporting him as the pair added 94 runs for the opening wicket. Sam Curran dismissed both the openers to make the innings all about the South African middle-order batter, Rilee Rossouw. The left-handed batter was on fire as he clobbered the PBKS bowlers all around the park. Wicketkeeper batter Phil Salt scored an unbeaten 26 off 14 as the visitors surpassed the 210-run mark.

Chasing 214, Kings got off to the worst possible start as they lost their captain Dhawan for a golden duck. Centurion from the last game Prabhsimran Singh amassed 22 while Atharva Taide smashed 55 off 42. Livingstone played like a lone warrior right till the end as he hammered five fours and nine towering maximums. But, the target proved too much for the home side as they got restricted to 198/8. Pacers Anrich Nortje and Ishant Sharma picked up two scalps each for Capitals. For his game-changing fifty, Rossouw grabbed the Player of the Match award.
