South Africa are currently unbeaten in the ongoing World Cup, but a loss here will put their campaign in danger. The match is also a virtual quarterfinal for the West Indies who have won one and lost one in the Super 8s so far.
Both teams won their last respective matches. West Indies got the better of their co-hots, the USA. USA batted first and lost wickets at regular intervals. USA then collapsed in the face of a comprehensive bowling performance led by Roston Chase that found support from the rest of the bowling lineup to shoot USA out for a low total. Shai Hope went all guns blazing in the chase, with some support from Nicholas Pooran, and helped West Indies chase the total down just above the designated halfway mark.
South Africa once again, managed to hold their nerve defending a below-par total. While watching his partners struggle at the other end, Quinton de Kock used the powerplay to his advantage and came out all guns blazing. David Miller kept the tempo up but none of the other batters matched it up. Adil Rashid produced another good performance. England's top order struggled to get going and it looked like they had been completely thrown out of the game until Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook spirited a fightback that took England close, but once they were both dismissed, South Africa managed to sneak over the line.

South Africa vs West Indies Strategies & Match-ups:
This will be the last match at North Sound in this T20 World Cup. Both teams boast of a batting lineup that can post a high total. South Africa have been narrowly escaping with some timely bowling, and the West Indies have been blazing away with the bat. This contest will be a major one as it pits the major strengths of the two teams against each other. South Africa have had trouble finding their feet with the bat and will want to improve their record. The West Indies bowling has been on a resurgence and will fancy themselves to keep a fragile South African side on their toes.
The important match-ups are Anrich Nortje vs Nicholas Pooran, Kagiso Rabada vs Rovman Powell, and Roston Chase vs Quinton de Kock.
X-Factors for South Africa vs West Indies:
South Africa:
Anrich Nortje recently became his country's highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cups. He has been instrumental in leading South Africa's bowling charge and will be an important player if South Africa want to stage a jailbreak with the ball again.
West Indies:
Nicholas Pooran has been in some very good form and has been smashing the ball around. West Indies will need his services to prevent South Africa from getting away from another jailbreak.
