Ace Bangladeshi batter, Mushfiqur Rahim, overtook the likes of MS Dhoni and Inzamam-ul-Haq on two separate counts while batting during the ongoing second Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka. The seasoned cricketer attained the milestone at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Wednesday, June 25.
During his 35-run knock, Mushfiqur eclipsed the tally of Dhoni and Inzamam in the charts for the most international runs and most Test runs against Sri Lanka, respectively. This was the 38-year-old's 180th Test innings in his illustrious red-ball international career.

He was dismissed by debutant, Sonal Dinusha, on the final ball of the 54th over of the innings. He holed out in the deep with a slog-sweep which found the safe hands of the fielder at the deep square-leg fence. Mushfiqur's knock comprised a total of five boundaries.
As for Bangladesh, they ended up on 220/8 in 71 overs at Stumps at the end of the first day. Shadman Islam (46 off 93) top-scored for the visitors. Other than Mushfiqur, there were two other batters who were dismissed in the 30s; Litton Das (34 off 56) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (31 off 42).
It was an all-round effort by the Sri Lankan bowling outfit. Asitha Fernando (2/43 in 14 overs), Vishwa Fernando (2/35 in 16 overs), and Dinusha (2/22 in nine overs) shared six wickets between them. Tharindu Ratnayake and skipper, Dhananjaya de Silva, picked up a wicket apiece.
