Destructive left-handed batter Ishan Kishan shattered a flurry of records as he became just the fourth Indian to slam a double century in one-day internationals. The southpaw achieved the special feat against Bangladesh in the third and final match of the ongoing series in Chattogram. The 24-year-old hammered 210 off just 131, including 24 fours and ten maximums at a deadly strike rate of 160.31. Replacing skipper Rohit Sharma in the dead rubber, Ishan tore apart the Bangladeshi bowling line-up on his way to a blazing double ton.

Playing just his tenth ODI game, Ishan broke a number of records in his special innings. The Patna-born youngster became the youngest and the fastest batter to reach a double hundred in the 50-overs format. He also registered the highest individual score by an Indian against the Bangla Tigers, surpassing Virender Sehwag’s knock of 175 in the opening match of the 2011 World Cup in Mirpur. Notably, the man of the moment, Ishan, became the fourth Indian to grab the milestone after Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma (thrice).

Speaking about the ongoing encounter in Chattogram, Bangladeshi skipper Litton Das won the toss and opted to field first with an aim to complete a 3-0 whitewash over the Indians. But Ishan came out all guns blazing as he showed no mercy whatsoever to the Bangladeshi bowlers. With this sensational knock, the swashbuckling batter also reached his maiden century in international cricket. Courtesy of Ishan’s knock and Virat Kohli’s 72nd across formats, the Men in Blue reached a mammoth total of 409/8 in their allotted 50 overs.

Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the records Ishan Kishan broke on his way to a scintillating double ton:
