Stats: Suryakumar Yadav establishes supreme T20 record with 14th consecutive 25-plus score in IPL 2025
Suryakumar Yadav has hit the most consecutive 25+ scores by any batter in T20 history.
Suryakumar Yadav registered his name in the history books during Match No. 69 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Jaipur. The star MI batter and India's current T20I captain surpassed Temba Bavuma for the most consecutive 25-plus scores in the shortest format of the game. The match saw him remain unbeaten on 57 off 23 balls, his 14th straight 25-plus score, surpassing Bavuma's previous record of thirteen.
In MI's previous game against Delhi Capitals, Suryakumar Yadav had equalled Bavuma’s record, where he played a match-winning 73* off 43 balls. Meanwhile, today's innings sees him surpass Shubman Gill (13 in 2023) and Kane Williamson (13 in 2018) for the most 25-plus scores in a single IPL season (14).

The right-handed batter's form in IPL 2025 has been brilliant. Despite entering the season on the back of a lean patch, he has quickly found the rhythm and played a huge role in taking the Mumbai-based franchise to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is currently second on the list of most runs scored in IPL 2025, with 650 runs, and is just behind Gujarat Titans' batter Sai Sudharsan.
Yadav breaks Tendulkar's record
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old also achieved an elite milestone for Mumbai Indians, becoming the batter with most runs in a single edition of the Indian Premier League. With this, he surpassed the record of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record for a decade and half for his 618 runs in the 2010 edition.
