West Indies edged past India by six wickets in the second ODI at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados and are ready to clinch the series in the third ODI, which will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad, on August 1.

West Indies, courtesy of a brilliant partnership between Shai Hope and Keacy Carty, stole the show in the second ODI. The duo put on a stellar 91-run stand for the fifth wicket, with Hope scoring 63* off 80 balls and Carty contributing 48* off 65 balls. As a result of their impressive performances, West Indies clinched the game, with Hope being named the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock.

In contrast, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested for the match. However, Indian openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan started the innings strongly, putting together a solid 90-run partnership for the first wicket. Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja later added 33 runs for the sixth wicket. However, India lost wickets at regular intervals, resulting in a total of 181 all out in 40.5 overs.

In ODIs against West Indies, Virat Kohli has an impressive record, amassing 2261 runs in 41 innings at an average of 66.50, including nine centuries and 11 half-centuries. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has been exceptional with the ball against West Indies in ODIs, picking up 44 wickets in 31 innings.

On the other hand, West Indies captain Shai Hope needs 65 runs to become the fastest to reach 5000 runs for West Indies in ODIs. He also holds an excellent record against India in ODIs, scoring 983 runs in 23 innings at an average of 49.15, including three centuries and four half-centuries. In the bowling department, Alzarri Joseph has been effective against India in ODIs, claiming 22 wickets in 13 innings.
