The only person to win all the three ICC Trophies as a captain, MS Dhoni, turned 38 on 7th July 2019. It is quite a momentous occasion for a man who has been one of the longest servants of Indian cricket. The wicket-keeper batsman, who made his debut in 2004, has already been around for 15 years. Over the years, he has evolved into a demi-god not only in the Indian circles but all around the world.

Fans absolutely idolise him and there is immense love wherever he goes. Dhoni is now the senior-most player in the Indian team and is busy with the World Cup 2019 campaign in England. The former skipper celebrated his birthday with teammates and they seemed to have a great birthday bash.

You’ll always be our captain, MS!

Indian cricket owes a lot to MS Dhoni. One can say, it was smooth sailing for him until the 2011 World Cup. But after that, there have been many ups and downs. The senior cricketers weren’t performing as well and the team was losing everywhere. Dhoni was bold enough to take some brave calls. He identified a few players and backed them to the core.

The bowling unit had to be completely revamped and there weren’t many players who lived up to the expectations. Yet, like he always does, MS Dhoni backed them to the core. He took all the blame for the losses and the bowling unit that we are witnessing now under the Virat Kohli-era is courtesy his backing and boldness. There are several other instances when players blossomed under the 38-year-old.

Given his immense contribution to the sport, he is adored by all his teammates. They’ve all got the utmost respect for the Ranchi cricketer. Even the former cricketers, his IPL teammates and coaching staff have got immense regard for him. There are several players who have never played with him but have admired him over the years.

It is only just for such a famous cricketer to be flooded with wishes on his birthday. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, DJ Bravo amongst numerous others have taken it to their social media platforms to wish the legend.
