Cricketing fraternity pours out its love for Sachin Tendulkar on his 48th birthday

So, the ‘God of cricket’ has turned a year older today. 24th April 2021 marks the 48th birthday of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. In a career that lasted 24 years, the ‘Master Blaster’ achieved unprecedented success with the willow in hand for India.

Not only is Tendulkar the highest run-scorer in both Tests (15921) and ODIs (18426), he is also the highest century-maker in both these formats of the game as well. The ‘Little Master’ is also the only man to have scored an unprecedented 100 international hundreds.

Tendulkar was also a part of India’s 2011 World Cup winning squad. The batting icon also won the Man of the Tournament award in the 2003 World Cup as well. Tendulkar retired from international cricket in the year 2013, after playing his 200th and last Test match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

And, the cricketing world has showered Tendulkar with birthday wishes on social media. From batting superstar Virat Kohli to the ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle, several cricketers have wished Tendulkar on his special day.

Kohli tweeted that Tendulkar is one of the greatest players to have played the sport, while Yusuf Pathan has stated that Tendulkar has provided a billion memories for everyone to cherish. Pragyan Ojha has opined that even though there are many superstars in the game of cricket, there is just one Master.

Ravi Shastri opined that it would be extremely difficult for anybody to come close to Tendulkar’s achievements. Ajinkya Rahane has tweeted that very few sportsmen were able to evoke the emotions of millions of fans the way Tendulkar managed to, and Suryakumar Yadav has stated that Tendulkar is an inspiration.

Suresh Raina opined that Tendulkar’s passion for the sport gave memories that will last a lifetime. There are also a few cricketers who have asked Tendulkar to stay healthy as well. It is a known fact that Tendulkar tested positive for Covid-19 last month, and the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Mithun Manhas have wished Tendulkar good health. And finally, Dinesh Karthik has stated that it was a treat to play with Tendulkar.
