The cricketing trends on the social media mostly revolved around the second day’s play of the first Test between England and India at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Alastair Cook and Dawid Malan dropped Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya respectively, and former cricketer Aakash Chopra reckons they should turn the match around in favour of the visiting team. Mohammad Kaif wasn’t pleased with the way the Indian batsmen perished in quick succession.

Eoin Morgan, England’s limited-overs skipper, wasn’t happy after seeing the empty seats at Edgbaston. Subramaniam Badrinath hailed Ravichandran Ashwin after he finished with a four-wicket-haul. Former English women’s cricketer Isa Guha also found the match as an exciting one. In the meantime, Sourav Ganguly shared a picture before the start of the second day’s play.

Nick Compton was surprised after Cheteshwar Pujara’s was left out from the playing eleven. Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan spinner showed his eagerness to play for Sussex at Lord’s against Middlesex. Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistani fast-bowler, posted an old picture from last year in Sharjah.

Ireland’s all-rounder Kevin O’Brien wished the women’s hockey team prior to their quarterfinal match against India in the World Cup. Yuvraj Singh shared an old picture where he was seen playing chess with Sir Vivian Richards along with teammates Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
