The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of events. Former South Africa cricketer Shaun Pollock posted a picture with the World Cup trophy. Windies all-round cricketer Darren Sammy posted a picture and captioned it, asking the users a question. Indian batsman Kedar Jadhav posted on World Cancer Day in order to make people aware. Sri Lanka all-rounder Angelo Mathews is training hard on a holiday.
Right-arm fast bowler Mohammad Sami has been named as the new captain of Islamabad United in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rumman Raees posted a picture with the new skipper. Shikhar Dhawan shared a video where he can be seen carrying his son Zoravar on his shoulders. Former Indian batsman and current commentator Aakash Chopra had a question, surrounding players these days being athletes.
Yesterday, India won the five-match ODI series against New Zealand, beating the hosts by 35 runs in the final encounter at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Vijay Shankar, who played a handy knock in the last game, was delighted and he posted a couple of pictures from the winning moments.
Brendon McCullum recently announced his retirement from Big Bash League (BBL) cricket and former pacer Brett Lee wished him on his journey ahead. Lee also reminisced the time both played together for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

8. Lee happy for McCullum
One of the best blokes on and off the field @Bazmccullum Fierce but fair!
It’s been a pleasure to play against you but even better when we played for @KKRiders together.
Good times ahead buddy 🍺
Wishing you well in stage 2 of your life mate

9. Chopra has a query
We are told that players are becoming better athletes across the board. Faster and stronger. Then why bowling 15 overs in an hour such a difficult thing? In fact, the leniency with which the extra time is added, 13.5 overs an hour does the job on most days.

Congrats to the Aussies on winning the #warnemurali trophy in a very dominating performance. It’s been a long & tough summer of cricket. As we were well beaten by a very good Indian cricket team & lost the #bordergavasker trophy plus we lost the one day series as well – but It was nice to finish on a high for confidence & beat Sri Lanka – albeit a very depleted and an inexperienced team. My player / bowler of the summer was @patcummins30 & batsman of the summer was the ever improving @travishead34 !! Player to watch going forward during the #WorldCup & Ashes is @marcusstoinis ! Well done to @foxcricket too, was a lot of fun working with you over the summer. See you at the #bigbash finals ! Ps Very good to see M Starc find some form too !!!!
