The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The 2020 edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge got underway on Wednesday with the match between Velocity and the Supernovas, the champions of the 2019 season. After putting the Supernovas to bat first, the Velocity did an excellent job, restricting Harmanpreet Kaur and Co for a paltry 126. The Supernovas were looking ominous when Chamari Athapaththu and Harmanpreet were going all guns blazing. But then, wickets kept pushing them back.
In the meantime, a number of cricketers wished the cricketers for the tournament. Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian cricketer, reckons that the girls can match the men, who are busy playing in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer is gearing up for the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier 1 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Rashid Khan was happy with how Sandeep Sharma has performed in the IPL. Both have done well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who would be playing in the Eliminator against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Chris Green was over the moon after getting to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler also signed off with messages after plying their trade for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the T20 extravaganza.
