The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The third day of India’s first Test versus South Africa took place in Visakhapatnam. On the close of play on the second day, the hosts had the upper hand. But Dean Elgar and Quinton de Kock scored centuries and brought the Proteas right back into the contest. With a couple of days left in the encounter, the visitors are trailing by 117 runs with two wickets left in the first innings. For India, Ravi Ashwin was the most successful with a five-wicket haul.
Ravindra Jadeja also became the fastest left-arm bowler to notch 200 Test wickets, accomplishing the milestone in 44 matches. Rishabh Pant, who isn’t a part of the contest, celebrated his 22nd birthday and he was showered with wishes on the auspicious occasion. Wriddhiman Saha was preferred ahead of him for the first Test. Pakistan leg-spin bowler Shadab Khan also turned 21 and he was wished by many of his teammates as well. His best buddy and fast bowler Hasan Ali also dropped a message for the youngster.
Shadab is set to play the three-match T20I series versus Sri Lanka, starting October 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. He was a tad lacklustre in the recently-concluded ODI series. Suresh Raina posted a picture where he was seen working hard in the gym. Punjab batsman Mandeep Singh posted a gorgeous photo with his wife and captioned it with romantic lines. Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman lauded Mayank Agarwal, who scored a brilliant double century.
