The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The World Cup match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the County Ground in Bristol got washed off due to persistent rain. Subsequently, both teams got a couple of points. South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi posted a picture along with skipper Faf du Plessis and lauded his captain. Former Indian wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta celebrated his 42nd birthday.

The cricketers from every nook and corner of the country wished him on the auspicious occasion. Parthiv Patel and Romesh Power also sent their wishes for Dasgupta. Vinod Kambli shared a picture on Twitter where he made everyone aware of the need to avoid talking on the phone while driving. Gautam Gambhir is set to be a commentator for Star Sports during the World Cup and will be away from Delhi for a few days.

In the meantime, the semi-finals of the 2019 French Open took place today. 17-year-old Amanda Amisinova, who took down defending champion Simona Halep in the quarterfinal, locked horns with eighth-seeded Ashleigh Barty. However, after winning the first set, she lost the next two and lost the match 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. After the victory, the Australian cricketers, including John Hastings and Chris Lynn praised Barty for the thumping victory.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal faced off in the first of today’s men’s semi-final. There was a lot of anticipation surrounding the game but in the end, Nadal, known as the ‘King of Clay’, won the match in straight sets. Fedex tried hard but lost the contest 3-6, 4-6, 2-6. Hemang Badani was busy watching the epic clash. Mayank Agarwal conducted a poll where he asked the users about the player they are supporting in the game.
