The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of events, which included the cash-rich and prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL). Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. KL Rahul, who has been struggling for a place in the Indian team, scored his maiden century of the T20 tournament off 64 balls that took his team to 197 in 20 overs.
Apart from Rahul, Chris Gayle also showed his brutality with the bat. He went hammer and tongs to notch 63 from 36 balls with three boundaries and as many as seven sixes. Midway through the knock, former Indian batsman, Aakash Chopra felt that Krunal Pandya would end up picking the Jamaican’s wicket, but that eventually wasn’t the case as fast bowler Jason Behrendorff after he and Rahul put on 116 runs for the first wicket.
Nasser Hossain also heaped praises on the opening pair of Gayle and Rahul. Sanjay Manjrekar felt that dropping Lasith Malinga wasn’t a great move, especially when Rohit Sharma was rested owing to a thigh injury. Manoj Tiwari, the Bengal cricketer, felt that today’s contest would be a high-scoring affair.
Rahul Chahar showed his excitement of taking part in the match. Irfan Pathan posted a picture with former Aussie batter Matthew Hayden. Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq congratulated Rashid Khan for featuring in the Wisden book.

2. Chopra believes in Krunal Pandya
Krunal is the last bowler to be introduced because of Gayle’s presence. I feel he’s likely to dismiss Gayle tonight.

3. Manjrekar criticizes Mumbai
Once Rohit was not available, MI should have looked to make their bowling stronger but they dropped Malinga. Emotions prevailed over cricketing wisdom and logic. Let’s see how this goes.#MIvKXIP
