The cricketing trends in the fraternity revolved around various aspects. From the Women’s World T20 which kick-started on a positive note for India to various other bilateral tours in men’s cricket, the fans and cricketers have had a restless start to the penultimate month of the year.

Many eyes were on the World T20 which started in the Caribbean islands yesterday. Indian eves registered a breathtaking win against a strong Kiwi unit, which should give them a lot of confidence going ahead. The Indian women managed to reach the finals of the 50-over World Cup and would be eager to go one step further in this tournament.

Harmanpreet Kaur bagged a phenomenal century, which happened to be the first by an Indian cricketer in T20Is. Her stellar strokeplay was backed up brilliantly by teenage sensation Jemimah Rodrigues, who registered a 45-ball 59. The duo added 134 runs for the fourth wicket. Poonam Yadav ad Dayalan Hemalatha chipped in with three wickets each to steer their side home.

Rangana Herath’s farewell game turned out to be a disastrous event for the hosts as they bowed down to England. The Three Lions registered a thumping win and for the first time in quite a long while, they managed to dominate a subcontinent side in Asia. The second Test between the sides will commence on 14th November in Pallekele.
