The cricketing trends on social media revolved around the different events today while many were busy talking about the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Australia. Mohammad Abbas was the wrecker in chief for Australia as he exploited the conditions in the United Arab Emirates perfectly and scalped three wickets when it was expected that the spinners will dictate terms on the fourth day of the Test match. He scalped the key wickets of Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Marsh to keep his team ahead in the game.

Ian Bishop, the former Windies player, was all praise of Abbas for bringing the art of reverse swing back in the game and lauded him for the same. Meanwhile, Dean Jones found Sarfraz Ahmed‘s captaincy very much defensive as he felt that the cricketer quickly goes into the shell and he should quickly learn from what transpired in the Asia Cup. The Men in Green lost control over the game more often after being on top thanks to the poor captaincy.

There was also a buzz around India’s second Test match against Windies which is set to be played in Hyderabad commencing on October 12. Cheteshwar Pujara was excited about the game and he practised hard in the nets while also working hard in the slips over catching. Also, Prithvi Shaw looked excited for the game and will be looking to make the difference in the second game as well.
