The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. The final of the 2019 World Cup is scheduled to take place on July 14. New Zealand and England are set to lock horns at the Lord’s- The Home of Cricket. Prior to the encounter, there has been a lot of speculation about how the strip would be. Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain posted a picture of the deck at the iconic venue.

The track looked green and Hussain felt that it’s dry underneath. Previously Australia bowed out of the tournament after their eight-wicket defeat to hosts England at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. After the loss, David Warner and Usman Khawaja expressed their gratitude for their journey in the mega event. Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan developed a thumb injury during the tournament and he was ruled out.

The southpaw posted a picture where he can be seen chilling out in a relaxed mood. Rashid Khan has been appointed as Afghanistan’s captain after the national team’s winless run in the World Cup. The 20-year-old thanked the ACB for giving him the chance of leading the nation at the highest level. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar was happy after getting to meet Sir Vivian Richards, the former West Indies cricketer.

Pakistani cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal posted videos where they were seen working out in the gymnasium. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan posted an adorable picture of his daughter Alaina on Instagram. In the tennis world, Romanian prodigy Simona Halep won Wimbledon.

The 27-year-old brushed aside the great Serena Williams in straight sets- 2-6, 2-6- at the Centre Court. It was complete domination where she didn’t allow her opponent to make a comeback. Former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar congratulated her for the achievement, beating one of the best.
