The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. On the very day in 2019, the 2019 World Cup final between England and New Zealand took place. The match at the Lord’s Cricket Ground turned out to be a humdinger. The match eventually went into the Super Over, which was also tied. Jason Roy and Jos Buttler combined to run Martin Guptill out, bringing the curtains down on one of the greatest game of cricket the world has ever been a witness to. In the end, England got their hands on the trophy after edging past Kane Williamson’s Black Caps on the basis on hitting more boundaries in the encounter.
A number of cricketers have dropped their messages, reminiscing the massive contest. Jofra Archer bowled the Super Over and though he went for a six off James Neesham, he managed to save the day for the Three Lions. The speedster posted the video and still got goosebumps. Chris Woakes also posted about the game. Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian off-spinner, posted a throwback picture from his young days and captioned it with a motivational quote.
Mushfiqur Rahim, the veteran Bangladesh cricketer, has been training very hard to stay fit. He posted a video where he can be seen, exercising his heart out. Shakib Al Hasan uploaded a picture of his daughter Alaina. Steve Smith, the number one ranked Test batsman, went out for a run on a sunny morning. David Warner shared a video where his daughters can be seen, performing on a song.
