The cricketing trends on social media today was less about personal stuff and revolved more around the on-field excitement. While Irfan Pathan, Robin Uthappa, the big man Chris Gayle and a few others shared pictures from their personal time, most others were busy getting back in action or praising those who were on top of their game today.
The likes of Brett Lee, Dean Jones and Mohammad Kaif were impressed with Australia and Nathan Lyon’s show on the first morning of the second Test against Pakistan in the UAE. The Aussies got off to a really great start, however, couldn’t convert the pressure into real advantage as the hosts eventually made a hard fought comeback.

5. With the recent turn of events in the Indian squad selection, Aakash Chopra thinks it is quite an indication of the way the World Cup squad would look
Umesh Yadav to replace Shardul for the ODIs. Chahar and Kaul were chosen ahead of both Shami and Umesh in Asia Cup…now, the seniors are back. Signs of getting closer to the World Cup? #IndvWI

6. Prof Deano thinks the Aussies are finally figuring out the kind of combination they need to field while playing in Asia
So hopefully, Australia is now waking up that for them to win consistently in Asia, our attack must at least consist of Lyon, LAO and a leggie. They just need one our quicks to get a couple of wickets as well.

12. Ramiz Raja thinks the Pakistani team can learn a lot from their skipper Sarfraz Ahmed’s batting tactics and up the strike rate
Sarfraz has the best least dots percentage of a batsman in Tests in the last five years and so begs the point why did this brilliance overpassed the Pakistan batsmen? It’s a great and safe blue print at improving Pakistan’s droopy strike rate!!

13. Master blaster wishing another great cricketer Jacques Kallis on his birthday
An amazing all-rounder but more importantly a simple and humble human being. It was a pleasure playing against you, @jacqueskallis75. Wishing you a very happy birthday. pic.twitter.com/tXyc4AqFfv

14. Mohammad Kaif was impressed with Nathan Lyon’s spell on the first morning of the 2nd Test vs Pakistan
What a spell from Nathan Lyon. The fact that he now becomes the 4th highest wicket taker for Australia in Tests speaks so much about how he goes about his job quietly. Only Warne, McGrath, Lillee have taken more wkts for Australia. #PAKvAUS

15. Lyon went past Lee in the wicket-takers tally and the legend was thrilled
