The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around the three matches as some superb cricket was played. Yusuf Pathan turned 36 years old today and Twitter was flooded with birthday wishes for him. The likes of Rashid Khan, Manoj Tiwary and Mohammad Nabi among many spared time for him to wish him on this auspicious day and hailed him for entertaining them over the years.

Sri Lanka played stunningly well in the second Test match against England chasing down the total of 301 runs. Consistent partnerships stitched by Angelo Mathews along with Dimuth Karunaratne, Roshen Silva and Niroshan Dickwella kept them in the hunt. But Mathews was dismissed at the stroke of stumps and even Dilruwan Perera was sent back soon after which Michael Vaughan heaved a sigh of relief. Sri Lanka still need 75 runs to win and they have three wickets in hand.

Meanwhile, in Queensland, Australia and South Africa locked horns in a 10-over game thanks to the rain. Virender Sehwag was thrilled to watch the contest and expressed his excitement of joining the Maratha Arabians for the upcoming T10 League season. AB de Villiers was also happy that South Africa ended the tour Down under with a victory as they defeated Australia comfortably by 21 runs and as it stands they lost only a solitary game on the tour after losing the practice game.
