The cricketing trends on the social media revolved mostly around the ongoing Test match between England and India at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. India lost three wickets in the pre-lunch session and Michael Vaughan felt that the visiting team somewhat handed over the advantage to Joe Root’s men. Tom Moody hailed Chris Woakes, who removed India’s top order. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane buckled down to build a partnership.

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra praised the Indian captain and Rahane for their resilience with the willow. Rahul Sharma was ecstatic for Rishabh Pant, who made his debut after replacing Dinesh Karthik. Meanwhile, the condition in Kerala is no less than abject owing to floods and many cricketers like Sam Billings, AB de Villiers, and Eoin Morgan have come forward with their wishes for the state in India.

Shahid Afridi congratulated Imran Khan after the latter’s oath-taking ceremony. Fast bowler Tymal Mills was happy as Sussex qualified for the quarterfinals of the T20 Blast. Ravi Bopara picked up his 200th T20 wicket against Kent and expressed his satisfaction. Suryakumar Yadav congratulated Kohli for completing ten years in international cricket after he made his debut back in 2008 against Sri Lanka.
