The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. India locked horns with South Africa in the second match of the three-game series at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The first encounter of the series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala was abandoned due to persistent rain. Suryakumar Yadav was stunned by a catch taken by Indian skipper Virat Kohli to dismiss Quinton de Kock. The Proteas skipper was looking ominous at that stage, having scored 52 runs off 35 balls with the help of eight glorious boundaries.
After winning the toss and electing to field first, India restricted the visiting team to an under-par 139 in 20 overs. Aakash Chopra reckoned that Navdeep Saini should the the hosts’ death bowler. Saini conceded 34 runs in his spell of four overs and nipped out De Kock. Manish Pandey was all pumped up before the encounter. He played in all the three T20Is in the West Indies, but wasn’t picked for the second T20I. Shreyas Iyer, who did exceptionally in the Caribbean ODI series, was preferred ahead of the Karnataka batsman.
Indian fast bowler Mohit Sharma turned 31 years old and he was showered with wishes from every nook and corner. The likes of Axar Patel, Kedar Jadhav and many others wished the speedster on the auspicious occasion. Brad Hogg, the former Australian cricketer, slammed the Sun, who leaked Ben Stokes’ sensitive information about his family. Ajit Agarwal was happy after watching The Zoya Factory. He watched the movie along with Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge and Ajay Jadeja.
