Undoubtedly, the trends on social media in the cricketing world revolved around the summit clash of the World Test Championship (WTC) between India and New Zealand. Kyle Jamieson was the star performer for the New Zealand side with the ball, and scalped 5 wickets, giving away just 31 runs in the 22 overs that he bowled, as India were bowled out for a total of 217 in the first innings.
Mohammad Kaif has opined that the Kiwis bowled with a lot of quality in seaming conditions to bundle India out. Kris Srikkanth feels that the Virat Kohli-led Indian side needs to bowl well to come back into the match. Meanwhile, former England skipper Michael Vaughan is loving the WTC Final as it offers a balance between bat and ball.
Today is also Father’s Day, and a number of cricketers have taken to social media to elucidate the roles played by their fathers in their lives. While Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam has stated that it is due to his father he is where he is today, Irfan Pathan has labeled his father as his inspiration. Axar Patel feels that there is no place that is safer than the arms of a father. And finally, Virat Kohli has opined that being a father is the greatest joy and blessing of his life.
