Cricketing trends on social media today

The trends on social media in the world of cricket revolved around a number of issues on 20th May 2021. West Indian cricketer Shai Hope has wished everyone a great day, while Indian batting legend Mithali Raj has thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for arranging 2 Test matches in 2021 for the Women’s side.

Today, a number of cricketers are celebrating their birthdays. Former Indian spinner Ramesh Powar has turned 43 today, and Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Iqbal Abdullah have wished Powar on his birthday. Also, Sarah Taylor and Anjum Chopra turn a year older today, and a few cricketers have wished them on their special day as well.

Mohammed Azharuddin has also posted a throwback picture from the 1992 World Cup. Meanwhile, tragedy has struck Abhinav Mukund’s family, as Mukund’s grandfather passed away at the age of 95 due to Covid-19. Ravindra Jadeja is sharpening his riding skills on the back of his horse.

Also, after it was announced that the Indian Women’s side will play a one-off Test match against Australia this year at Perth, Lisa Sthalekar wants the India versus Australia rivalry to become something like the Ashes. Punam Raut has lauded Indian skipper Virat Kohli for donating money for the treatment of Sravanthi Naidu’s mother who is battling against Covid-19. Sravanthi Naidu played 1 Test, 4 ODIs, and 6 T20Is for India. And finally, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s father passed away today, and the likes of Suresh Raina and Parwinder Awana have offered their condolences to Kumar.
