The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Sri Lanka won the opening Test against New Zealand by six wickets at the Galle International Stadium. Subsequently, they took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series and opened their account in the World Test Championship. Dimuth Karunaratne, the Lankan skipper, scored a masterful century to guide the hosts through to a thumping victory.

After the triumph, the southpaw was showered with praises from all over the cricketing fraternity. The likes of Rangana Herath and Kumar Sangakkara was happy with the home team’s performance. it was also Sri Lanka’s third successive Test victories after the ones against South Africa earlier this year. Meanwhile, at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, the fifth day of the second Test between England and Australia took place.

Ben Stokes scored a masterful century in the third innings that helped the Brits set a target of 267 for the Aussies to chase down. Stokes showed grit and determination in the middle with the bat. Kevin Pietersen, Michael Vaughan and many appreciated Stokes for the effort. Shoaib Akhtar was unhappy with Jofra Archer as the latter didn’t go up to Steve Smith after hitting him on the helmet.

Indian batsman Karun Nair posted a picture with his girlfriend Sanaya and was over the moon. Suresh Raina shared a video where he was seen working on his recovery after undergoing his second surgery on his knee. Thisara Perera was ecstatic after getting to meet Herath. Gautam Gambhir was happy with John Abraham’s Batla House that hit the silverscreens a few days ago.
