The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Today, Australia and New Zealand were involved in the second Test of the three-match series at MCG in Sydney. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne scored brilliant fifties on Day 1 and helped their side in order towards a massive total.

Smith went unbeaten at a score 0f 77 runs along Travis Head on 25 runs. One surprising thing at MCG to watch was the presence of 80,000 spectators, who came to watch enthralling encounter on the opening day of the match. Even many cricketers also shared their views over the same on the social media platform. On the other hand, the Test series between South Africa and England got off the mark in Centurion. The visitors won the toss and elected to field and their bowlers proved their skipper decision right.

Moreover, James Anderson, the right-handed senior pacer from England marked his 150th Test appearance for his country and also took the wicket of Dean Elgar on the first ball of the innings on Day 1.
